What About Our Boys?

A day before New York Rep. Peter King called Michael Jackson a “pervert” unworthy of nonstop media coverage, the aunt of a U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan on the same day Jackson died asked why her nephew’s death went virtually unnoticed while the King of Pop got memorial shrines across the country.

“Mr. Jackson received days of wall-to-wall coverage in the media,” Martha Gillis wrote to the Washington Post. “Where was the coverage of my nephew or the other soldiers who died that week?”

Poor soldiers…they are in the heart of fighting for our Freedom, and the media treats them w/a pure ungrateful attitude…I did think the Michael Jackson coverage was a "false-worship fest" and his memorial was even more so. MJ was a singer/artist….not a man who put his life on the line for his people, yet he was treated as "God". Maybe because he sold so many records? Or because his music drew millions to listen? That explains this culture that live "for" money. But how does this make a person above those who take bullets to suffer and die for our country/freedom, above those who live in poverty for the sake of helping those less fortunate….? Yet we turn on the TV or Internet yesterday and all-day…"Michael Jackson Memorial" -"the golden casket", the many "famous artists" speaking and performing for him…the millions of viewers…..It is very "wrong" We are living in crazy times!

God bless those soldiers. I hope they come back soon.
