Was the Divine Mercy Revelation a Harbinger of the End Times?

I’ve be been reading the entire diary of St. Faustina these past couple of weeks and discovered, to my surprise, how very apocalyptic the messages are. The Lord repeatedly told her (over 70 years ago, keep in mind) that the Divine Mercy revelation was specifically given to prepare mankind of the 2nd Coming and the end of the world. It’s a theme that reappears frequently.
Here are a couple of examples of what I’m talking about:
Write down these words, my daughter. Speak to the world about My mercy; let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy. It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice. While there is still time let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy (Diary 429).You have to speak to the world about His great mercy and prepare the world for the Second Coming of Him who will come, not as a merciful Savior, but as a just Judge. Oh how terrible is that day! Determined is the day of justice, the day of divine wrath. The angels tremble before it. Speak to souls about this great mercy while it is still the time for granting mercy (Diary 635).Tell souls about this great mercy of Mine, because the awful day, the day of My justice, is near (Diary 965).Write this: before I come as the Just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy. Before the day of justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort: All light in the heavens will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the cross will be seen in the sky, and from the openings where the hands and the feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will take place shortly before the last day. (Diary 83).

Glory to Jesus Christ! Of course it is! No doubt about that. Re: JPII (see Augustine), Our Lady tells Fr. Stefano Gobbi of the Marian Movement of Priests that JPII is specially prepared by Her.
I was going to post the same comment as Augustine. I think it is extremely significant that St Faustina was the first canonisation of the New Millennium and of course our beloved John Paul The Great died on a First Saturday which was also the eve of Divine Mercy Sunday.
we are thankful that god is so merciful. For those who are unbeliever, i respect your own views. Believe it or not it will happen as Gods promised. In what days, we do not know. it can be today or tomorrow, so much better to be prepared anytime. We are all sinners but we come to jesus for his great mercy. God is compassionate god.

Near the end of the Diary, you’ll find: “From [Poland] will come forth the spark that will prepare the world for My final coming.”
I cannot help thinking of JPII, even if his papacy’s fruits take 1000 years to prepare the world for the coming of Our Lord.

oh yes … it’s very apocalypitc indeed! I believe we are in (at least the beginnings of) the end times … I would not be surprised to see the Illumination/Warning or Miracle … we all want peace of course, but I’m at the point where I’m feeling things are more in God’s Plan now so I’m just praying for the Kingdom to come and God’s Will be done on earth as it is in heaven 🙂 Can’t go wrong with that one! 😉 But seriously, I have felt for a while now that we’re standing on the precipice. Rosaries, Mercy Chaplets and Trust in Jesus are the order of the day!
