The steward was "having a bad day," sources said.

I think this qualifies as perhaps the most spectacular understatement of the year, maybe of the decade.
“A flight attendant ran out of patience on a plane that just landed at JFK on Monday afternoon, so he allegedly cursed a blue streak over the p.a. system, grabbed some beers [grabbed some beers!!!], pulled the emergency chute, slid down and ran from the plane, sources said. . . .” (continue reading)
apparently some passenger slammed his bag into the stewards face while the steward was attempting to ask him to comply with flight safety rules and wait until the plane had stopped moving before unloading his luggage from the upper compartment…I can totally relate to the stewards state of mind having been there a few times myself over the years…
And to anonymous – you'd be surprised – people who work desk jobs most certainly DO have a clue:) Try having an Austrian boss with the personality of a Riechstagg officer whose constantly yelling your name making even your coworkers cringe – Bless her heart – she had no idea how I wanted to throttle her…I am retired now thankfully…hehehehe – the crap we put up with for a paycheck….Lord have mercy on us all…

I can totally understand how he was probably feeling. I am a nurse and can relate to feelings of frustration. I don't think he's mentally ill, or that he was even necessarily having a bad day. I think he just reached his breaking point. People who work desk jobs don't have a clue.
If my tax dollars go towards putting this man in jail for 7 years, I will be really upset…
This was also from the version I read:
“I’ve been in the business 28 years. I’ve had it. That’s it.”
That quote was GOLD for me. LOL!
Despite the F bombs, I fell out of my chair laughing when I read about this on another website.
I wanted so badly to do that with my previous employer!
