Okay, Comments Are Now Working (Sort of)

Whew. After a lengthy diagnostic, trouble-shooting phonecall with my personal tech-support amigo (a.k.a. Father Bud — God bless him), we figured out what the problem seems to be with this blog not showing comments.
In fact, your comments are there — or at least the capability for you to post them is there — but because I’m using an “enhanced” template, comments don’t show up on the main page. Why, I don’t know. But, hopefully, Blogger will soon fix that odd lacuna in the software.
So . . . to see the comments and/or to post comments of your own, you have to click the title of the post, and voilá! They appear.
I’m sorry for the nuisance. At least we do have comments, and in due time, if the fix ever comes in, you’ll soon be able to see them on the main page. For now, though, just click the post headlines and we’re in business.
That’s great! I’ve been a big fan of your writing for a while and am delighted to see that you have a blog. I look forward to reading more.
It’s Alive!
It’s not a bad way to do it, at least for now. I’ve considered making comments hidden on some of my posts…maybe all of them.
Look at it this way: you’ll spend less time moderating. (Um, and I for one promise not to cause trouble anyway…)
Thanks, but actually, I have tried everything I (and my techy friends) can thing of to show the comments normally. But for some strange reason, this blogging software will not cooperate. Maybe they’ll fix this bug in a new release. But at least for the time being, we can work around it this way, by clicking the headlines.
Interesting. If you want the comments link to show up on the main page, go into “Settings” and then click on “Comments”. Your first option will be either to “show” or “hide”.
Of course…if you prefer that your comments be hidden, then…well done! 🙂
Glad you got that “fixed”, Patrick. Since my suggestion wasn’t the correct one, I guess I don’t get the free books… (from my email).
