Oh, and did you know YOU paid for that blasphemy of the Eucharist?

That’s right. In this jaw-droppingly offensive and blasphemous new video produced by Link TV, which is funded with Federal money — a.k.a. your tax dollars — the Holy Eucharist has been yet again desecrated before a camera, for the whole world to see.

Reporting on this apparent simulation of the Eucharist, the Catholic League reports today:

On February 3, Link TV featured a three and a half minute video that mocks Catholicism. The media outlet is available as a basic service in more than 31 million homes that receive direct broadcast satellite TV.

The video, “Divine Food,” opens with a priest waking up to a rumbling noise that shakes the religious symbols and statues in his room. He proceeds to a Catholic church where he discovers several wafers near a cup (the implication is that they are consecrated Hosts). In a disrespectful manner, he chews them vigorously and then admonishes the statues that are “looking at him.” He falls asleep in the church and when awakened he is asked to say Mass, which he refuses to do. The priest then makes large wafers out of dough and gives the pancake-like substance (which he calls the “Body of Christ”) to confused parishioners at Communion. The video ends when he drops the remaining “Hosts” into a dirty aquarium.

If this is not bona fide evidence that we are standing at the threshold of a new persecution against the Catholic Church (against Christianity in general), then I can’t imagine what could be classified as such.

Here is the video. I warn you, it will make your blood boil — or at least it should:

IN CASE THEY TAKE DOWN THAT LINK, HERE’S ANOTHER ONE:

Say some prayers of reparation to our Lord after watching this video, on behalf of the wicked people who are responsible for producing it and for all those who will laugh along with it.

I once had a long conversation with a convert to the Catholic Church, a woman who used to be a practicing satanist. Among the other things she shared with me about how satanists operate, she declared that they simply don’t care about or bother with any group of Christians other than the Catholic Church. The way she put it, “We satanists would frequently pose as Catholics and approach to receive Communion at Mass, so we could pocket the consecrated host and bring it back to our group to profane it.” She said, with tremendous sorrow and remorse, that satanists know exactly Who that is in the Eucharist: Jesus Christ. And that’s why they focus their energies on attacking and mocking the Catholic Church.

And this new Link TV video atrocity is another, well-publicized, example of that satantic malice at work.

Are you mad now? Then stand up and make your voice heard on this. Pray for the idiots behind this and then raise some hell about it with all the appropriate parties.

If you read the comments section posted here – http://www.linktv.org/video/2746 – they refute that LinkTV receives money from the government and they have removed the video from their website while they “properly assess the concerns”.

  2. Child of God says:

    Hi Patrick

The original link still works though.

  3. Ciaran Butler says:

This is truly a sad video that is not one bit entertaining but creepy. It is terrible that Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament is being mocked like this. We must truly pray for those people who made this video and regard it as “entertainment”

  4. Cynthia says:

I don’t expect it to get anywhere, but I did file a complaint with the FCC (#09-C00091905). I imagine FCC doesn’t have jurisdiction, but at least it’s a complaint.

  5. Cynthia says:

St Michael the Archangel, pray for us!
Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
Let’s see if this makes sense: LinkTV.com is supported by Federal tax dollars. Airing a desecration video not only constitutes a hate crime but is a violation of the separation of church and state. Therefore, LinkTV.com should lose its Federal funding.
    … Well, I can dream, can’t I?

  6. sepryor says:

I am curious about where the video was filmed. It appears to be a Catholic Church. This needs to be investigated.

  7. Patrick Madrid says:

Nah, Child, I think you’ve got it pegged wrong.

It’s a lousy, inept, cinematically week video, to be sure, but being lousy, inept, and cinematically weak has never stopped films and videos from wreaking damage on viewers. (Dogma, The Last Temptation of Christ — Hello?)

Posting this is not at all counterproductive, because the reason for doing so was to get Catholics up off their complacency to voice their displeasure. It’s worked pretty well so far, as is evidenced by the fact that the first video seems to have been pulled after just 48 hours. I added the second one for the short term for those who heard about this on my radio show yesterday and want to speak out.

I agree that videos like that deserve zero viewers, but in the meantime, since people *are* watching it, I believe I have a duty to denounce it.

  8. Child of God says:

I have to disagree with your tactics here Patrick. Certainly the film is offensive. It also happens also to be cinematically weak from several technical standpoints, as well as lacking in any valid artistic merit.

It lacks a message, lesson, or expression and fails to engage the audience in any meaningful or insightful manner. It looks like another weak, meaningless student flick.

Posting a link and then embedding another copy is (in my opinion) counter-productive. We all know that we live in a clearly anti-truth society, and these bigots will never remove this film, nor will Youtube remove anti-christ videos from their site. They gloat in a perverted sense of victory, smuggly winking eyes among themselves that they have riled some Catholics.

These poor pathetic hateful idiots and their paid stooges and flunkies have nothing productive to do with their lives, so they sin.

This waste-of-film and other such anti-Catholic garbage deserves no attention from anyone. The lower the number of views, the better.

  9. pans_soul says:

How little courage it takes to offend Catholics. If the truly want to appear courageous they should try offending muslims….Hmm.. waiting,…
    I didn’t think so.

  10. Christine the Soccer Mom says:

FYI, by 11 this morning, the video was gone for the original site (Praise be to God!).

  11. Special K says:

This video lacks in so many ways most especially artistic merit, it is highly offensive to a vast majority of viewers. This only helps to further hate crimes founded in anti-Catholic, anti-Semitic behavior around the world.

If anyone wishes to make a difference in having this hate publication removed from the internet and elsewhere, I suggest by-passing the middlemen – producers who have exhibited a callous nature and go directly to the independent funding and distribution streams.

the co-producers have a variety of partners in funding including,

Finally, contact YouTube and other distributions outlets about it’s removal, this is not acceptable and media groups private or public need a call to responsible broadcasting.

How desperate they are, who ridicule what they cannot comprehend. I won’t watch the video…I’ll simply take your word for it. I’ll be composing a letter to LinkTV, just as I did to Youtube regarding actual video depictions of eucharistic desecration. I watched a couple of those videos, and the images still haunt me…

    Jesus, mercy…

  13. Mary Rose says:

    Patrick,

A few months ago, I went head-to-head with a young Canadian atheist who had posted about 28 YouTube videos of him desecrating the Eucharist. I was infuriated. I created my own videos challenging him. It ended up opening a can of worms as I immediately found my YouTube channel inundated with radical atheists, slamming my beliefs. It was fine, though. I treated each one courteously but did not back down from challenging them on their own disrespect. I am still communicating with one atheist today via email.

This “short film” had to be one of the stupidest videos I’ve seen in quite some time. Of course it’s offensive and that to me was the sole purpose of it. As an artist, I find it reprehensible that the only reason anyone created such rubbish was to offend. There is no value whatsoever in this production.

Finally, it makes no sense. Why would a priest throw a few of the “wafers” on the floor and then chomp others? If anything, it is showing a seriously mentally disturbed man who is out of sync with his vocation.

Just outrageous. Then again, we do live in a fallen world and yes, they need our prayers desperately.

  14. Joseph says:

I am deeply offended by this movie. This movie sends a clear message which is blasphemous to my faith. In America we are supposed to be free of religious bias, bigotry, persecution and attack. It seems that attacking Catholics is permitted, but even criticism of other groups and religions is strongly opposed in the interests of tolerance, fairness and freedom. Please give Catholics the same respect that is accorded to other groups. I strongly urge and beg you to please remove this video immediately. Please show yourselves to be honorable and fair-minded people who will not attack the beliefs of others.
I will pray for you, my brothers and sisters.

  15. Bob Cavalcante Jr. says:

Just found it over on YouTube also. Have at em!

    God Bless,
    Bob

  16. Bob Cavalcante Jr. says:

Folks I also reported this on my blog and just discovered that the movie’s creator/director, Marcela Said (Chile), has a Facebook page. I’m sure she would LOVE to hear your opinion!

  17. Jesse says:

If this had been an attack against Islam, Link TV’s offices would be getting burned down over this.

  18. Jeff Miller says:

“In this mystical short, a priest is curiously transformed when he consumes the wafers of his chapel”

Talk about a caption that had nothing to do with the video.

Not only does this mock the Eucharist, but it is terrible art. It is so poorly made and makes so little sense that it angers me even more. I would almost wish our enemies had better film making skills. Artists today seem to take short cuts in their art. To be edgy and provocative simply take something from Christianity and use it in a base manner. Elephant dung on Virgin Mary, Crucifix in urine, multitudes of Last Supper pictures with naked people. They only prove that even they know there is something sacred.

  19. Matthew says:

Great blog. Thanks for the info. Here’s what I sent to the Link TV contact us link. I hope others will take action as well.
To Link TV regarding “Divine Food” :
This video is very offensive and promotes the desecration of what we Catholics believe to be the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, of Jesus Christ. I am appalled by the blatant disrespect your company has to my religion and request for the immediate removal of this video from any public viewing. I am also surprised to hear that my tax dollars goes towards funding your company and will help make the public aware of this and of your negligence, if it be the case, to remove this video and issue an apology.

I have already sent emails to everyone in my contact list regarding this and will look towards further action on facebook, other social networks, and my state and federal representatives.

  20. makemeaspark says:

You realize of course that by clicking the link you give them a “hit” on the vid and this increases its overall popularity rating?

  21. The Copywriter Come True says:

I gotta say, I didn’t really feel offense when I looked at it. Maybe I’m missing the big point. The video was just stupid more than anything. I mean I could tell that the maker was TRYING to insult the Church, but I don’t quite get WHAT the insult is.

  22. Bobby Bambino says:

I can’t even think about clicking on those links or investigating this story any further because it is just so, so evil.

For the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

  23. James says:

I can’t believe this video. Its blaphemous, and bigoted. But its also so stupid. It baffels me as much as it insults me…

    *************************
O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary I beg the conversion of poor sinners.
    Amen

  24. Patrick Madrid says:

Here is the note I sent them via their survey request form:
To see if it was really true that you posted a deeply offensive hate-video called “Divine Food,” as had been reported in the Catholic press. I am outraged to see that the report is accurate, and I ask you to please remove it. It’s blasphemous and hate-filled in its mockery of Catholics. You probably aren’t, but Link TV and the people who produced this video should all be deeply ashamed of yourselves for doing this. Take it down.
