As the economy worsens, be sure you're laying up treasure in heaven

“Then, they will say to him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a strange or naked or sick or imprisoned and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me’” (Matt. 25:44-45).
Ok you don't want to give the ten percent that you should give to the church —- then give it to the hungry, you have clothes on you're back , food at home , what about them??????
When my daughter was living in the San Diego area her job was to help the homeless/mentally ill find a safe place to live and food daily not out of the garbage.
Now that she lives in San Francisco she works with teens that are victims of abuse from their own families. It is heartbreaking.
To see entire groups of teens living in tent cities or crowded together in sleeping bags on the sidewalks because of fear of their own parents, father, etc., in a country with such wealth – Lord have mercy on us for ignoring their cries that surely reach to heaven!
Peace of Christ,
Teri
