Sometimes, a well-placed photon torpedo is the only answer

I posted this last year, but since it’s Lent and you need a little more penance to help burnish your soul (who doesn’t?), I’m bumping this gem up to the top for awhile. Think of it as a humorous alternative to a hair shirt.

I can’t get this creepy tune/weird dude out of my head, is it coming back to haunt me or to remind me to do more fasting this Lent….

  2. Brokenbose says:

That reminds me of the time my choir director asked me to sing tenor–ten or, twelve miles away from the choir. Hey! Is this thing on? Here all night folks…

  3. Billy Bean says:

I am Eastern Orthodox. But I guess that my sense of humor is still Roman Catholic. I loved this!

  4. Brokenbose says:

I can’t get that laugh out of my head.

  5. Mark says:

It was like watching a train wreck. I knew it was horrible, but I couldn’t take my eyes off it. Obviously, Patrick Madrid suffers from the same sick sense of humor as I do. BRAVO!

  6. Pete says:

Painful and horrific. No wonder they lost the cold war.

  7. Tim Trainor says:

Hey, that was the Responsorial Pslam at our parish mass last Sunday!

  8. Dan Hughes says:

Hillarious to the point of being shareable! Loved the McCoy face plant and Uhura’a wince! LMAO… classic! Did I hear you say Patrick Coffin is to blame..errr, umm… I mean gets credit for this?

  9. art villa says:

    Rules on fasting during lent.

  10. Sue from Buffalo says:

Oh, man. I think I’d prefer a hairshirt. lol

  11. jpkvmi says:

They should have used the phasers sooner to save us from 3:42 seconds worth of agony.

  12. A Catholic Dad says:

Where do I go to get my 3:42 back?

  13. tetachar says:

i understand God made … him too. & sorry to have this thought but barck Obama came to mind
after seeing this guy go on and on and on ..on…

  14. FrDarryl says:

Chekhov: Wasn't that 'On Eagles Wings' in the background vocals? Keptain – I think we just wiped out a Kumbaya Class Catholic starship!

Kirk: Federation Orders. The Kumbaya Class are from the Novus Ordo System. Apparently the Vatican got approval for quarantining the system because they were developing a new NALR virus. Don't worry, Pavel. It was an fully-automated ship that just plays Musak on all channels. No sentient beings on board.

  15. LarryD says:

If I knew how to do it, I'd use this Star Trek footage, and have a Call-to-Action liturgy or the LA Religious Education Congress on the viewscreen.

I'm linking to this, Patrick. Good find!

  16. ~M~ says:

I think Kirk waited to long to shoot.
    M~

  17. Adrian Yanez says:

The singer is a metaphor for the horrible liturgical practices in America

  18. Warren Jewell says:

Just some poor Frenchman overcome by love of old Lewis movies

  19. Agnes says:

So this is the answer to our liturgical anomalies…hmmm. Interesting!

  20. Jordan Henderson says:

Very funny… However, I need to point out that Kirk dealt with the menace using Phasers, not Photon Torpedoes.
