Halloween time machine

The other day, I was telling one of my teenage sons about what it was like when I was a kid and went out trick-or-treating, back in the 1960s and early 1970s. For one thing, Halloween was always observed on October 31st. None of this modern-day social engineering stuff where the local municipality “transfers” Halloween to a different day. Also, back in those days, it was pretty uncommon for parents to be out walking the streets as chaperons for their kids, unless, of course, they were little kids. But pretty much, if you were 7 or 8 and up, you’d be out trick-or-treating sans parents and with your neighborhood pals. Boy, have times changed. It’s the foolish parent who’d let his grammar school aged child go out unattended these days. As for hauling candy, I learned early on (like this comedian mentions) that a pillow case is a much better, more effective confectionary repository than a paper bag, and for the very reasons he talks about.

    James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

    Halloween is more of the world than of Christ and the faithful. When you open a door to a child to think something is o.k. to celebrate, you must be ready to give an answer to the demons that are ready to play with them. There must be a definite right or wrong. We are to strive to be in perfection of Christ in his image. Not the image of man or so called evil spirits, demons of death or Satan.

    I stopped celebrating Halloween when I was introduced to the demonic followers. Children tend to behave in a more destructive way. Especially teens. I am tired of the destruction of my fall decorations. In the past innocent washable tattoo’s contained drugs. Fire fighters ask to chose wisely about costumes. Many a child has been harmed by fire in these clothes. It is called a night of mischief. Allowing the demons to play among the children of earth. I seem to have less tolerance to work with the pagan beliefs. We have been asked to tolerate way to much. I buy my children’s candy. We have visited a christian church that did a fall party. Very sweet and safe. Everything you needed for safety was there. After Constantine’s conversion… there should have been a conversion of celebrations as well. Don’t continue this pagan pattern. I could add much more. Here are some good bible verses;
    Ephesians 5:11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
    Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
    Ephesians 5:6-12
    Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.
    1 Corinthians 10:31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
    1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,
    Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

    Revelation 22:15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

    Do not practice a falsehood.

    1 Peter 5:8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

    With Halloween you have opened a child’s mind to the devil’s work and confusion of what paganism is really about.

    It looks as if you condone pagan festivals and a part of a demonic ritual. A teenager can be confused and think an Ouija board is just a game and not real. These things about pagan practices and bible teachings need to be taught and your children have discernment early. One thing… leads to another.

    In Christ,
    Mrs. Rebecca Dachenhaus

    P.S. About the Ouiji board, this happened to a sister of mine. She, said it was no big deal, just fun and taught me this very young. Luckily, I had a few people warn me a few years later not to touch the Ouiji board.
