Do Not Text While Driving PSA

This is grim. But brace yourself and watch it anyway, because it might just save your life and the lives of those you love. If you have teenage children, sit down with them and make them watch this. Have them share it with their friends.

I was unable to finish watching this. I have a hard time watching car wrecks as it is ever since I saw two of my best friends nearly killed in one, but it was the "Mommy, Daddy, wake up…" that killed me. As a father of a two-and-a-half year old with another due in 3 months, that just…that was too hard to watch for me. I sincerly hope that this video saves lives. I know it impacted me.

It seems some people think this PSA goes "too far." I disagree completely. I live in Upstate NY where 6 girls were killed in an instant because of texting and driving. They all had just graduated from high school. What a waste.

I posted this to my blog yesterday, and glad to see it's making its way around.

I'd just like to add: although it's directed towards teens, ADULTS need to take it to heart! I worked in insurance claims for nearly 5 years (3 weeks short), and can tell you that the 1st cause of nearly every accident was distraction/inattention.

And I very rarely spoke with teen drivers…

You do the math. Moms and Dads, show this to your teens, but you'd better know it can happen to you, too.

MediaCurves.com just conducted a survey on viewers of this PSA and results found that the majority of viewers (80%) reported that they were less likely to text after viewing the video. More complete results can be seen at http://www.mediacurves.com
    Thanks,
    Ben
